Fail Your Way to Success
It’s not a big secret that 97% of the people who get into network marketing fail. Most of these people fail not because they have the wrong MLM company, poor upline support or even crappy leads.
Most people fail in network marketing because they simply don’t have enough motivation to drive them to do the actions they need to do in order to succeed. In short, they don’t have a real enough “why.” Notice that I said “real” and not “big” enough. It’s important to draw that distinction here. Big dreams are great as are big goals. In fact, I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t have some big fantastic dream floating in his or her head somewhere.
When you put it in terms of the network marketing business, most people want to be rich, drive a fancy car, live in a 5,000 square foot home and go on lavish vacations. It’s just that very few are willing to actually work for it. Once they find out it’s not as easy as they hoped they give up or worse yet go on spending money on one get-rich-quick scheme after another.
Network Marketing has many aspects, but promotion, persistence, and patience are three key elements which are critical to achieving successful results.
PROMOTION is the lifeblood of network marketing. Whether you are using online methods or offline methods, or a combination of both, you must constantly strive to get your offering in front of a targeted audience.
There are thousands of published sources that deal with specific methods of network marketing (both online and offline), but the key point to be made here is that you must have an active promotion campaign designed to bring in a steady stream of new prospective down-line members.
PERSISTENCE is a key element in network marketing success. You’ve gotta “just keep on keepin’ on”,
even though frustration levels can be quite high at times.
After you have been at it a while, and have a down–line large enough to provide reasonably accurate statistics, you will probably find that about 95% of your down-line members are dormant and do nothing at all. Its easy to get down in the dumps or take it personally when you encounter so many “do nothing” people.
Therefore, it is really important work with and actively support the 5% or so that are serious about participating. And clearly, an active and effective promotion campaign will continue to bring in increasing numbers of potential participants so that while 5% is small on a percentage basis, it can still be a sizeable amount from a pure numbers standpoint.
PATIENCE is Vital. You can expect that it will take about a year before the awesome power of geometric growth kicks in.
A classic illustration of geometric growth is the frequently used penny-a-day example.
If you save one penny on the first day, and double it every successive day, (day two you have 2 pennies and day three you have 4 pennies, and so on) how much will you have at the end of 30 days? The answer, to the astonishment of many, is $5,368,708! Amazing, but true.
Its a sad statistic that most network marketers fail and it is often traceable to the fact that they did not exhibit enough persistence and patience to continue constantly promoting their business for the year or so that is required for success.
Network Marketers that stick with it for a year or more often end up becoming the proverbial “heavy hitters”.
I would like to encourage you to increase your chances of becoming a Successful Network Marketer by always keeping a clear focus on “the three P’s” of Promotion, Persistence, and Patience.
I have heard that “Network Advertising is Self Improvement wrapped around a product or service.” And it’s so true! True leaders, by nature, supply massive value to other people. The only method to become a leader and a true success story in this business would be to create up our value, grow and also learn as human beings, and share that wealth of knowledge with other people. Do not ever stop growing.
The choice between success and failure is up to you. Where are you going

Hi Barbara,
I agree with you that network marketing needs a lot of all the elements mentioned. To be quite honest, I seldom come across people who has all these elements and stay long enough with a company. Very few I met have all these elements and still stay strong with the MLM business.
Frankly, I am not an expert in MLM and I have thought of building my team online but it doesn’t seem to be what I really want, I guess. Will come back here again to read more and maybe your articles can help me to rediscover me and MLM
Thank you Barbara.
Cheers

Hi Barbara,
First time visiting your blog from TSA. You definitely need the 3 Ps to succeed in any business and especially in network marketing because it’s a tough business to sustain long term, hence so many people quit. There are many reasons I could list but some of the important ones are not being in the right business. It’s easy to think if so and so is making money selling x product, maybe I should be doing that too, but unless you have a genuine interest in the products/business you’re in, it’s impossible to succeed long term
.
Great post!
